About the Speaker
Beth Solomon began her career as a radio reporter in East Africa for the Voice of America. As a freelance producer for ABC News, she covered the fall of the Berlin Wall and the first democratic elections in Eastern Europe after the breakup of the Soviet Union. Solomon then worked for Cox Newspapers, writing op-eds for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution and the Palm Beach Post, later becoming a speechwriter for U.S. Senator Sam Nunn (D-GA), longtime chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee. After leaving Capitol Hill, Solomon represented writers and directors at a major Hollywood talent agency. She then went on to roles in politics, financial services, and international humanitarian aid. Author of Georgetown Dish, a behind-the-scenes look at Washington’s most influential neighborhood, Solomon graduated from Yale with a degree in History.
