Introduction to Podcasting

Many organizations and individuals need to be able to differentiate themselves from the competition. Podcasting has become one of the key methods by which individuals and businesses can stand out.

  • During this presentation, he will (1) review the state of the industry; (2) discuss key considerations before you begin to record; and (3) share some of the tools you need to be successful.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Joseph Barone is currently the CEO/Corporate Learning Consultant for A Fool for Learning, LLC. His role is to work with organizations to identify and deliver appropriate learning solutions, based on their business goals and objectives. He is an active podcaster, hosting Foolish Thoughts Podcast Channel, with more than 200 episodes.

Foolish Thoughts is produced by Joseph Barone, aka A Fool for Learning (www.afoolforlearning.com). These short episodes, usually under five minutes, cover topics on learning/training, management, leadership, networking, and whatever other foolish thoughts come to Joseph’s mind.  His podcasts are usually published on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but it really depends on how foolish he feels.

Before jumping into the world of podcasting, Joseph was a Senior Information Officer with The World Bank in Washington, DC, responsible for managing the IT Learning Team and for the analysis, design, delivery, facilitation, and evaluation of both off-the-shelf and proprietary applications, especially during rollouts.

He was also Learning Board Member (Full and Alternate); managing the Global Support Center – SAP Desk; managing the Bank’s online learning program/contract; conducting training at 22 Bank offices overseas. During this time, he was awarded over 17 Performance Awards for his work.

Joseph holds a BS in Elementary and Special Education from St. John’s University (NYC), a MA in Social Studies Education from Hunter College (NYC) and a Professional Diploma in Training and Management Development from New York University. In his spare time, Joseph has been a Boy Scout leader for over 35 years.  Currently, he is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 466 (Silver Spring, MD) and on the Training Committee of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

The 40Plus Monday Speaker Series is sponsored by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA).
