ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Sara Evans is no stranger to switching (and even losing) jobs. A trained I/O Psychologist, career and leadership coach with 20+ years of HR consulting and marketing communications experience, Sara credits her career success to self-awareness, resilience and being able to articulate and sell her own personal brand. Having worn many career hats, Sara’s life work is devoted to helping career changers turn “what-ifs” into “what’s possible,” and business leaders lead with confidence.
Before starting her own business, Sara worked for Marriott International as an HR business lead, working with C-suite executives on various projects. Specifically, following Marriott’s acquisition of Starwood hotels, she led succession planning, organizational design and change management initiatives globally and for the Americas. Prior to her Marriott work, she supported Fortune 100 companies, Federal institutes, and academic institutions as an HR and communications advisor.
Sara holds a BA in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and an MPS in I/O Psychology from The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She is also an ICF accredited coach having received her training from the Coactive Training Institute (CTI). She volunteers with Future Link of Maryland as a Mentor and Volunteer Captain and is Vice President of BNI Bethesda Business. When she’s not helping others gain career clarity, Sara can be found walking her dog, Cooper, or attending one of her son’s hockey games with her husband, Owen.
