Statement of Support: 

As an organization that empowers experienced professionals, managers, and executives for successful career transitions, 40Plus of Greater Washington serves professionals of all races and ethnicities. We stand firm in our support of all people who have been affected by the horrendous racist and violent acts in our country.

We condemn the police brutality that led to the tragic and needless death of George Floyd, along with others before him such as Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile and Eric Garner. We also condemn the violence, bigotry and systemic racism that has occurred during the past 400 years, particularly against black men and women in our nation. Furthermore, we stand firmly against discrimination of any kind including age discrimination, which frustrates many of our members during their search for new employment.

We offer our condolences to the family of George Floyd, his friends and loved ones. As a way to honor his memory, we stand ready to work with other agencies and community-based organizations, along with the community at large, to end injustice in all its forms against the oppressed and all persons of color.

Life has several different stages and times of transition. To plan our next chapter we have to look back and see how far we have come and where we want to go next. Many times, that is an exciting experience, but sometimes we have not gotten to our ideal end goal and have dealt with hurdles along the way.

This presentation will help you to learn a new method for setting goals that to change that pattern. Come:

  • Identify how you may have gotten where you are and where you want to go next
  • Learn a new methodology that some of the most successful people and organizations are now using.
  • How to apply that methodology to your own personal and professional life.
  • How to apply that methodology to help your business and organization transition
  • Current pitfalls in goal setting and executing on them

Jessica Brown is an organizational and leadership development consultant and coach with extensive experience working with all organizational levels creating, promoting, and delivering solutions designed to support the organization’s vision and mission. Her passion is helping companies build solutions and systems for accelerated and sustainable organizational and leadership excellence.

During the past decade as a coach, she has helped leaders develop their skills and style to be more successful in their role. She works with leaders on an array of topics including emotional intelligence, delegation, time management, feedback, conflict resolution, employee development, and much more.

As a consultant, she has served organizations by designing and delivering successful programs in leadership development, team building, change management, performance management, succession planning and many other topics. Jessica's consulting and coaching offers clients insights and assistance in establishing best practices in organizational and leadership development and building effective and efficient companies that get results.
