This speech will cover difficulties such as being a 40plus worker and having a disability.
   

By interviewing for information as suggested by Richard Nelson Bolles, jobseekers can work around challenges that can bring about discrimination by hiring officials.

Dale will also tell her own story – how she found a job at the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities using informational interviewing and how she persuaded Bolles to write a book with her.

About the Speaker:   

Dale Brown is a nationally known disability employment specialist, author, speaker and strategic leadership consultant. She coauthored one of her books, Job-Hunting for the So-Called Handicapped or People who have Disabilities, with Richard Nelson Bolles, author of What Color Is Your Parachute?  Dale worked for the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and the Office of Disability Employment Policy, Department of Labor.

 

She works as a disability policy consultant and recently completed a project with Veterans Staffing Network, Easter Seal developing organizational infrastructure to serve wounded warriors.  She has spoken at over 1,000 national, state and local conferences and symposia on disability issues.
