Linked-In: From Silicon Valley to Washingon, D.C., social and affiliate networking is sweeping the D.C. region. Learn how interactive media sites can lead (sometimes quickly) to a good job.

Marv Goldstein will lead the audience through a step-by-step "How To" get registered with an affiliate and social network emphasizing business and career.

LinkedIn is an online tool, used by professionals to find customers, jobs, employees, investors, business partners, service providers, and industry experts through their network of personal and business relationships.

The presentation will focus on the free service part of LinkedIn. Mr. Goldstein will show how it can be a valuable resource to a career search by, among other things:

« Locating contacts at companies with job openings
« Allowing you to gain introductions to people important to your job search
« Identifying people working in a career field you are exploring
« Uncovering unique job openings not advertised on other sources
« Finding job fair open houses sponsored by individual companies

Marv Goldstein is a senior business research professional focusing on competitive intelligence. He has extensive experience providing multiple clients with information on a broad array of business issues and technology trends in major markets. He conducts primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research by using popular search tools and analysis software to support business strategies and day-to-day sales, marketing and product management activities.
