Identity Crisis: Finding Power in Defining Yourself

In today's world, there is very little if any time devoted to figuring out one of life's most important and most ignored questions: Who am I?  The power of this question is not immediately apparent, as it seems like a pretty straightforward answer.  But is it really?  How you choose to identify yourself can distinguish you as a leader, can influence your interactions with coworkers, family, and friends, can contribute to stress both positively or negatively, and can change the landscape of your job search and your life. And that's all just the beginning.  As part of this session, attendees will:
    • Learn the distinction between internal and external validation
    • Begin to answer the  questions: "Who am I?" and "Who do I want to be?"
    • Be empowered to redefine the way others see and interact with you
    • Combat impostor syndrome by identifying your truest self
    • Overcome or avoid the dreaded mid-life crisis

    Recession-Proof Your Career

"Getting a job right now is so easy!" said no one ever. If the economy is doing well or if we're headed for a recession, there is no quick and easy guarantee of success in any market. And, since economic indicators seem to point toward the possibility of a downturn, many of you may be asking yourselves what you can do to make yourselves recession-proof.

During this fast-paced session, Laura M. Labovich, bestselling author of 100 Conversations for Career Success & Chief Executive Officer of The Career Strategy Group, a DC-based career transition and resume writing firm, will share the following key takeaways:

    • Top ten things you need to do to improve your chances of successfully weathering an economic downturn.
    • Three things you can do in the next 3 months to ensure that you are more well-networked than you are today
    • The one behavior that can actually improve your career success AND your health, even during a challenging period in your career
